Sunday we celebrated the election of new church officers. They are: Elders: Roy Cashion, Samantha Jeffries, Bryson McAdams, Reggie Miller, Pam Patterson. Deacons: Phil Bruce, John Burris, Alyce Clark, Sharon Degon, Julie Lemon, Renea Phillips, Jeremy Thomas.
Bible Study in Exodus continues Tuesday at 10:00am in the Library. Prayer meeting will resume this Wednesday at 7:00pm.
Thank you to Jenny Lee and her husband Daniel for hosting their Open House on Sunday afternoon. Everyone, especially the youth, had a great time! Next up will be the Stoker’s open house on a date to be determined.

Circle 3 meeting will be held at Joan Edson’s house on September 12th. After that this circle will meet in the Ladies parlor.

This Saturday! The 2016-2017 Annual Fall Gathering for Presbyterian Women of Coastal Carolina Presbytery will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lumberton; 1002 North Chestnut Street, Lumberton, NC 28359. Our Plenary Speaker will be teaching Elder Judy Yates Siker, who wrote the 2016-2017 Horizons Study Book, “Who is Jesus?” She teaches New Testament at Loyola University Marymount University in Los Angeles. All Presbyterian women are invited.
For the Bargain Hunter, local retailers have reduced prices on “Back to School Supplies”, now would be a good time to stock up on school items for the Shoebox Ministry. Every year our church has been faithful in helping Samaritan’s Purse with their mission. They usually collect school supplies before Christmas. Remember to buy: pencils, pencil erasers, pens, crayons, small notebook, ruler, scissors, pencil sharpeners, etc. A large box will be available in the office to collect supplies. Please consider contributing to this mission, and don’t you love a bargain?
